Social Worker - seeks to improve the quality of ilfe of individuals, families, communities, couples, and groups. For example, a social worker can help an unemployed person find work or help a child find a foster home.

Firefighter - gets rid of fires but also responds to all emergency situations. A firefighter also works to improve fire safety for a community as a whole.

Police Officer - enforces the law, prevents crime, and investigates crimes to make a community safer for its members.

Therapist - helps people deal with stress or problems and is not a medical doctor like a psychiatrist and does not have a degree in psychology like a psychologist.

Psychologist - evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients regarding behavior and mental processes with a degree in psychology.

Psychiatrist - diagnoses and treats mental illnesses and can presribe drugs unlike psychologists.

Doctor - examines people and conducts tests to diagnose patients. Different doctors specialize in different areas. For example, a cardiologist diagnoses and treats heart and cardiovascular diseases.

Human Resources Personnel - works as a liaison between the management and employees of a corporation. A human resource worker addresses the problems of the employees and ensures a healthy work environment.

Environmentalist - advocates for the protection of the environment in specific ways depending on his or her area of focus. For example, an evironmental scientist would conduct research on the environment.

Youth Mentor - acts as a role model and guides children who need a responsible adult to look up to in their lives.

Nonprofit Executive Director - supervises the tasks of the employees and oversees the fuctions of the organization like a for-profit director.
