  • Librarian - helps facilitate how people access information in a library and also teaches people how to get and use this information effectively. 

 

  • Publisher - oversees the selection, production, advertisement, and distribution of a written work, like a book. Simply put, a publisher chooses which books will be published.

 

  • Editor - proofreads and edits the works of others of the same publication. An editor may also choose how and where written works will be published in the publication.

 

  • Literary Agent - acts as the in-between for an author and a publisher by representing the author in negotiations and deals with the publisher.

 

  • Archivist - collects, organizes, and preserves documents and records.

 

  • Historian - researches, analyzes, and interprets historical documents and artifacts.

 

  • Book Reviewer - reads and writes critiques of books.

 

  • Bookstore Owner - runs a book store like a business, but also decides which books will be available for purchase.

 

  • Translator - translates a written work in one language into a written work in another language. 

 

  • Copywriter - writes advertisements and publicity material, like brochures and catalogs.

 

  • Grant Writer - researches, drafts, and submits proposals to secure grant funding from foundations for individuals, nonprofits, or businesses. 

 

  • Scriptwriter - writes scripts for television shows and movies.

 

  • Speechwriter - writes speeches for people such as politicians or high profile clients.
